About This Event
The Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run, Walk & Kids Fun Runs will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 8 a.m., starting near the Kentlands/Lakelands Market Square Plaza. This is a USATF certified course, offering live entertainment and 2 water stops to participants as they wind through the award-winning new urbanist communities of the Kentlands and Lakelands. Race proceeds go to several local charities each year, making a big impact on the lives of those in need in the Greater Gaithersburg area and beyond.

The 2010 5K Race Donated 50% of Proceeds to 3 Charities!

As a non-profit and philanthropic organization, the Kentlands Community Foundation will donate 50% of the Race net proceeds to (3) nonprofit entities: the Dolores C. Swoyer Scholarship Fund, administered by the City of Gaithersburg, which gives children in need the opportunity to attend the City's summer camp prgram; The Dwelling Place, Inc., which provides transitional housing for families in Montgomery County, and the Maryland Senior Olympics, a non-profit that gives Maryland's Senior athletes the opportunity to compete in 32 different sports each year.
